Hair Maintence and After Home Care

Everyday Hair Care

Simple habits for healthy, manageable hair between appointments.

๐Ÿงด Wash
Your scalp is the most important part to clean. Oil, dirt, product buildup and debris can collect at the roots and affect how clean and fresh your hair feels.

  • Before shampooing, use your fingertips to gently massage and cleanse the scalp and roots. This helps the shampoo penetrate the scalp more effectively. Your scalp should feel clean and refreshed when you're finished.

  • I recommend shampooing at least twice, especially for thick and coarse hair.

  • Wash as needed for your scalp and lifestyle.

  • Rinse thoroughly, then condition the mid-lengths and ends. For thick and coarse hair, leave the conditioner in and rinse it out as your final step.

  • Use lukewarm water rather than very hot water.

Color Care

๐ŸŽจ Protect Your Color

  • Use color-safe, professional products recommended for your hair.

  • Avoid excessive heat, which can contribute to faster fading.

  • Protect your hair from prolonged sun and chlorine exposure when possible.

  • Follow your stylist’s recommended wash schedule for your specific color.

โ€‹

๐Ÿงด Maintain

  • Use a color-safe shampoo and conditioner that suits your individual color service and hair texture.

  • Use toning or color depositing products only as recommended for your specific color.

  • Schedule your maintenance appointment based on your color, regrowth and desired look.

โœจ Remember
The right products and routine help extend the life of your color and keep your hair looking healthy between appointments.

Hair Product Knowledge and Recommendations

Products should fit your hair, lifestyle, time and budget.

These are some of the professional lines and products I recommend. There are many great options available, but the right product depends on your individual hair and how much time you want to spend maintaining it.

My goal is to recommend products that help you maintain your cut, color and overall hair health between appointments.

๐Ÿงด What Does Your Hair Need?

โ€‹

  • Leave-In

Adds moisture, helps detangle and is great for air-drying or refreshing hair between washes.

  • Smoothing Cream

Helps control frizz and makes blow-drying smoother and more manageable.

  • Oil / Serum

Adds shine, smooths frizz and helps protect and soften the ends.

  • Mousse / Volume

Adds lift and volume, especially for fine or limp hair.

  • Paste / Wax

Great for short hair, styling, smoothing updos and controlling baby hairs.

  • Thermal Protectant

Use before a straightener or curling iron to help protect against heat damage and prevent future split ends.

  • Hairspray / Texturizing Spray

Hairspray provides hold; texturizing spray adds texture and volume.

  • Repair Products

๐ŸŽจ Color & Toning

  • Purple Shampoo

Helps neutralize yellow tones to maintain ash, silver or white hair. Use only when needed, as overuse can be drying.

  • Blue Shampoo

Helps neutralize orange tones and reduce brassiness. Use only when needed.

  • Color-Depositing Products

Can refresh or change tones on previously lightened hair. Always check with your stylist before using color-depositing products, as certain colors should not be mixed.

โ€‹

๐Ÿ’†‍โ™€๏ธ Scalp Care

Scalp treatments can help remove product buildup, excess oil, dirt and dry flakes.

If you're experiencing an itchy or flaky scalp, it can be difficult to tell whether it's simply dry skin or dandruff.
